- Details : A CO₂ wheel valve (or CO₂ handwheel valve) is a heavy-duty, manually operated control mechanism specifically engineered for trolley-mounted (wheeled) high-capacity carbon dioxide fire extinguishers.
Technical Specifications & Mechanical Features
- Forged Brass/Gunmetal Core: The main valve body is built from heavy-duty forged brass or premium gunmetal. It features an optional nickel or chrome finish to prevent deep structural corrosion or chemical breakdown while under heavy continuous pressure.
- Extreme Storage Pressure: Since carbon dioxide is stored as a liquid gas under equilibrium, this valve safely contains continuous internal operational storage loads upwards of 55 Bar to 60 Bar, with burst profiles factory-tested much higher.
- No Pressure Gauge Configuration: Just like portable CO₂ models, industrial wheel valves do not feature a standard pressure meter port. Because internal pressure remains static relative to the ambient temperature until the liquid gas is depleted, regular safety checks require weighing the entire trolley cylinder rather than reading a visual gauge.
- Secondary Control Integration: Because the wheel valve can take a few seconds to fully twist open, most configurations operate in tandem with a secondary horn-mounted shut-off valve at the tip of the discharge line, giving the immediate operator down-range precision control.
